The
Rio Grande Arts & Crafts Festival - Holiday Show will celebrate its
eighth year this holiday season! The October and March Festivals have become
premier events in New Mexico, and the same elements in those shows have
carried through to make this show equally as popular! Prime time for holiday
shopping, this show offers the perfect occasion for holiday shoppers to
enter the spirit of the season and begin their gift buying!
More About the December Festival
The Festival features the work of more than 200 fine artists and craftsmen
from all over the nation. This juried arts and crafts show is one of the
largest in the state and is expected to attract more than 20,000 visitors.
Participants in the show are selected from hundreds of applicants from
across the country.
The Festival highlights a great variety of handcrafted items not found
anywhere else, at affordable prices. Creativity and uniqueness abound
in pottery, paintings, jewelry, woodworking, clothing, and handcrafts
of all kinds.
Especially for the kids, the "Holiday Creation Station" is
held in its own exhibit hall, adjacent to the two main halls.
Also at this Festival will be the Annual "Cookie Walk", sponsored
by Community Health Charities of New Mexico. Proceeds from the "Cookie
Walk" and the "Holiday Creation Station" benefit Community
Health Charities of New Mexico.

The Festival is conveniently located in Albuquerque, New Mexico's largest and most central city.

Expo New Mexico Fairgrounds. From I-40,
exit south on Louisiana Blvd. - turn west on Lomas Blvd. - turn south on
San Pedro Blvd. to Gate 3-4 at the Expo New Mexico Fairgrounds.
Watch the Artists at Work
Stroll through the show and stop to marvel at artists at work- such as
a potter turning a bowl, a glass blower forming a vase, or a painter working
magic on a canvas. Watching the creation of a handmade piece always adds
value to the pleasure of owning a work of art.
For the Kids
The
"Holiday Creation Station" for the kids is held in its own exhibit
hall, adjacent to the two main halls. In this special area, children are
able to create gifts for their family and friends from over a dozen craft
projects. Craft projects are suitable for all ages. Your
child will have great fun and will have a unique gift, made by them, to
give to someone special! Kids also love the Magic Shows and rumors from
the North Pole tell us that Santa Claus himself will drop in to the show
to visit with young and old alike!
Food & Entertainment
Each Festival features a variety of culinary arts booths where visitors
can sample and purchase a delightful array of gourmet foods. Visitors
may also enjoy the tasty treats in the food concession booths set up year-round
by the State Fairgrounds.
